STAND raises awareness about the rights of Muslims within the educational system and protects the fundamental principles of free speech and freedom of belief and practicer all students. By building alliances with other advocacy groups and stakeholders STAND aims to influence educational policies and practices to be more inclusive and equitable for all students.
Materials for Learning
When teaching about Islam or Muslims , U.S. teachers are often confronted with a dearth of accurate and nuanced material about the history, politics and people of the Muslim World.
We work with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to textbooks and materials that are accurate, inclusive and unbiased.
Continuing Education for Teachers
We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods and resources, we provide a resource database filled with inclusive content for educators searching for information about Islam and Muslims around the world.
Support for Communities
Education happens within the context of family and community. Our approach extends beyond schools to help ensure students, their families and their communities have the necessary support to do their best learning and attain their most ambitious dreams.
